A Little Over Two Weeks In

  • 93F outside, very warm.
  • 4PM activity is max time
  • Much harder to see inside, bees getting close to filling up space on built comb all the way to a bee space from the window.

  • Lots more activity on nectar/honey area.  Seems like they are actually storing some now.
  • Lots of congregation at entrance at night:
  • Not seeing any activity in drinking at water source
  • Saw a hummingbird a couple times a few days ago

Bees are doing well

First orientation flights happened 1.5 weeks ago.  Colony is large, and building quite a bit of comb. Hope they have enough nectar.  The small yellow flowers around the lake seem pretty abundant right now. These bees seem slightly larger than last year's.  Not sure if that's possible.
