Inspected Hive, Saw Nothing Bad


  • All honey clean, some even capped finally!  Some drone larvae at the bottom of some of the honey.
  • No small hive beetles, or larvae or any apparently spoiled nectar
  • No mites.
  • Just happy bees!
  • Easy to inspect, only a little water spray to get them to poke their heads back down so as not to squish them.

Bees are doing well

First orientation flights happened 1.5 weeks ago.  Colony is large, and building quite a bit of comb. Hope they have enough nectar.  The small yellow flowers around the lake seem pretty abundant right now. These bees seem slightly larger than last year's.  Not sure if that's possible.
