Drones Being Kicked Out


  • I think as of yesterday, saw many drones at the entrance, and many being wrestled to the ground by multiple workers.  At least that's what it seemed like.  So apparently something has told them that it's time to kick them out.  Shorter days?  Cooler nights?  Lack of forage?  Not sure.

Bees are doing well

First orientation flights happened 1.5 weeks ago.  Colony is large, and building quite a bit of comb. Hope they have enough nectar.  The small yellow flowers around the lake seem pretty abundant right now. These bees seem slightly larger than last year's.  Not sure if that's possible.
