Made A Bee Escape


  • Made an 8-way bee escape for when I try to harvest honey.  Just wanted to see if it works vs. brushing the bees off a comb.
  • Wanted to take a bar of honey but only about 3/4 capped on last bar.  Rest totally filled with nectar, and heavy.
  • Have not added any bars for a couple weeks.

Bees are doing well

First orientation flights happened 1.5 weeks ago.  Colony is large, and building quite a bit of comb. Hope they have enough nectar.  The small yellow flowers around the lake seem pretty abundant right now. These bees seem slightly larger than last year's.  Not sure if that's possible.
